初本..........玉を打しりにて請てきの首へからみ引たをす

Shohon    First Item    The ball weight striking drives back the opponent entangling about his head and neck, dropping him.


二本..........玉を左右へとりてきの刀へからみをしよせもぎとる

Nihon    Second Item   The ball weight [wielding] left and right controls and captures the opponent's sword pressing, entangling and capturing with the final moves.


三本..........玉を打に請てきのかをへしりをうちこむ

Sanbon    Third Item    The ball weight striking [(?)and intersecting(?)], striking in underneath thus receiving and countering the opponent.


四本..........玉を打右へとりきりかける処をからみすりよせなげばなし

Yonhon   Fourth Item    The ball weight striking left in dealing the sword attack capture, gliding entanglement stopping the attack in outplay removing [the sword].


五本..........玉を打てき右の胴へきりかけるをうけ上より打つ処てきぬけ又きりかけるを右てにてとりなげる

Gohon   Fifth Item   The ball weight striking the opponent to the right of the trunk of the body, warding off the sword attack against the upper body then dealing with and striking the opponent furthermore a stab at the eyes sword attack on the right hand side, use a hand capturing throw.


六本 玉を打てきぬきかける処しりにてとめ柄をつき出す処左手にてじゆんにをさへ右足をふみ込とめる


Rokuhon   Sixth Item   The ball weight striking the opponent he striking at the eyes, furthermore pressing in and extending with hand stopper against the hilt of the sword, with the left hand and with the main hand restraining. right foot treading in and stopping him.


七本 玉を打て左へなぜをろし右へとりきり出す処をからみすりよせ右手にててきのあたまをうつ


Shichihon       Seventh Item        The ball weight striking to the left and lowering [?the chikirigi?] on the right side coming out with it and utterly capturing him, furthermore use gliding entanglement, the last move with the right hand striking the opponent in the head.


八本 玉を打先にてうけてき二度まきをろすきりかける処左手にてぎやくに手

をとり内へ入りぼうぐるま足にて先のひじをける

Happon   Eighth Item    The ball weight striking first, fending off the opponent twice, use a winding drop when being attacked by the sword with the left hand reversal (te gyaku) capturing the hand while entering and doing 'pole wheel' (?)to his leg(?) [E.g. with the long handle of the weapon] stepping forward with elbow stopping (?)strike(?).


九本 玉を打しりにてつける先右手にてはらいきりかける処右手にて手を

をとりなげる後玉を打

Kyūhon    Ninth Item    The ball weight striking at his rear, gripping with the hand at his left hand and fending off the sword attack, with the left hand perform capturing throw-down (tori-nage) striking afterward with the ball weight.


十本 玉を打先にて請しりにて打をとすつきてゆく処てきをさへ後ろ又玉をうつ

Jūppon   Tenth Item   The ball weight striking first, fending him off and performing the striking throw-down (uchi-otoshi) with the adhering hand in motion and from behind the opponent execute a strike with the ball weight.


十一本 玉を打先にて請てきかまへての上より棒先を通してきの左へぬけ左

うでをゝさへとめる

Jū-ippon   Eleventh Item      The ball weight striking first, fending off the opponent with the Upper position [E.g. of the weapon] and using the tip of the pole to the left eye of the opponent and performing arm arresting stopper (ude osae dome).


十二本 玉を打しりにてうけてきのきり出す処てきの右かたへいれ先の右手

をわが右てにてとりてきしやがむ右足にてけこむ

Jū-nihon    Twelfth Item     The ball weight striking him behind, fending off the opponent's dashing-in strike with the sword, entering to the front left, grasping with the right hand and also grappling with the right hand and putting in a kick with the right foot.


十三本 玉を打そのまゝにをりてきこてをきりかけるを右てをはなし右足を

引てき又うへよりきりかくる処左手にててきの右てをとりころがし刀とる

Jū-sanbon   Thirteenth Item  The ball weight striking and without changing [position] and breaking the opponents wrist with the right hand keep driving off and stringing along the opponent during his sword attacks. With the left hand jerk the opponent to the right and flip him off his feet capturing his sword.


十四本 玉を打棒先にて請てき右小手をきる様に返し右へとりきりかけるをうち

からみてきの右へすりこみつかをとりもくなり

Jū-shihon   Fourteenth Item     The ball weight striking and with the pole tip fending off the opponent as he cuts at the right wrist, counter to the right capturing during his sword attack striking entangling (uchi garami) to the right of the opponent sliding in and capturing the sword hilt.


十五本 玉を打先にてうけなぜをろし又しりにて請なぜをろしてききりかけるをからみ

すりこみとるてき右手にてうち出を居かわり棒しりにててきのよこはらをとめる

Jū-gohon   Fifteenth Item     The ball weight striking first and with a fending off throw-down (uke-nage) and again also fending off throw-down against the opponent whilst he attacks with the sword, perform entangling sliding-in capture against the opponent with the right hand perform dashing in exchanging strike with the pole and performing flank-side stopper.

Ippon   First Item  The ball weight striking with the sickle-blade to the outside, fending off and entangling the left elbow attacking with the sickle-blade horizontal across the belly.


二本 玉を打外かまに請からみ玉にて目つぶし後なげる

Nihon   Second Item  The ball weight striking with the sickle-blade to the outside, fending off and entangling, with the ball weight crushing the eyes and perform rear throw-down (ushiro nage).


三本 玉を左右より打又上より打て外かまに請からみ打ふせ右足にてける

Sanbon   Third Item  The ball weight controlling flailed left and right, striking again and again at the upper level, the sickle-blade to the outside brandishing to fend off and entangling, with the right foot kick off.


四本 下玉外鎌に請からみもぎとる

Shihon   Fourth Item   The ball weight hanging down to the outside with the sickle-blade fending off, entangling and snipping off.


五本 左右玉を打てきの刀みねを押ひきをとし左手にて手をもち首をかく

Gohon   Fifth Item   The ball weight striking left and right, arresting the opponent's sword, perform pulling drop (hiki otoshi).


六本 玉を打みきる後みねををさへかえしすりこみつきかへす

Roppon   Sixth Item   The ball weight striking the body cut across the rear-side, arrest the sword cutting countering and sliding in with a counter thrust [E.g. of the point of the sickle-blade].


七本 互にはつそをにかまへからみもきとる

Shichihon   Seventh Item   Both together initiating, from your position entangling and snipping off.


八本 玉を打つく処からみ左右へつけをかへしける

Happon   Eighth Item   The ball weight striking hard (?in the head?), controlling and entangling to the left and right, and countering with a kick.


九本 玉を打外がますり込もぎとる後又玉を打つなり

Kyūhon  Ninth Item  The ball weight striking to the outside, with the sickle-blade sliding in and snipping off, afterwards, striking with the ball weight.


拾本 乱玉後内がま又外がまにてからみなげる

Jūppon   Tenth Item   The ball weight striking wildly to the inner rear and the sickle-blade yet again to the outside, with the sickle in hand perform hand entangling throw-down (Te-garami nage).


十一本 玉を打左手をそへ外がま内がま玉を打からみなげる

Jū-ippon   Eleventh Item   The ball weight striking, with the left hand to the outside the sickle-blade to the inside, strike with the ball weight and perform entangling throw-down (karami-nage).


十二本 玉を打上にて内かま返して外かま又内かま外かまにてからみなげる

Jūni-hon   Telfth Item   The ball weight striking upward, countering with the sickle-blade to the inside, again with the sickle-blade to the outside perform entangling throw-down (karami-nage).


十三本 玉を打外かま玉を打外がま引をとし首をかく

Jūsanbon   Thirteenth Item  The ball weight striking with the sickle-blade to the outside, striking with the ball weight and with the sickle-blade perform pulling drop (hiki-otoshi) having hooked the neck.


十四本 玉をうち外かまにてすりこみかぶせ右足にてける

Jūshi-hon    Fourteenth Item   The ball weight striking with the sickle-blade to the outside, sliding in with the sickle-blade and kick with the right foot.


十五本 玉を打左手をそへ引をとし又左へ引をとし玉を打外がまにて

からみなげる

Jūgo-hon   Fifteenth Item   The ball weight striking, with the left hand pulling drop (hiki otoshi), and again with the left pulling drop (hiki otoshi). Strike with the ball weight the sickle-blade to the outside perform entangling throw-down (karami-nage).


十六本 玉を打外かまにててきの右手へかまをかけひきよせくさりをくびへ

かけ後ろよりいりを右足にてをさへる

Jūroppon   Sixteenth Item   The ball weight striking with the sickle-blade to the outside, with the right hand use the sickle-blade to hook and pull him in (kake-hiki yose) and using the chain to snare the neck afterwards thus enter with the right foot and arrest him.


十七本 玉を打内かまに請すり込てきの右へかまをかへし首をかくてもゝつ

Jūshichi-hon   Sixteenth Item   The ball weight striking with the sickle-blade to the inside, fending off while sliding in to the opponent's left countering with the sickle-blade hooking the neck and then the thigh.


十八本 玉を打外かまてきの左はらへかまをうちこみかゝへころがしてき

のかをかきとる

Jūhappon    Eighteenth Item   The ball weight striking with the sickle-blade to the outside, to the left of the opponent entering and striking with the sickle-blade to the belly and overturning the opponent and snipping off hooking capture (kake-tori).


十九本 左右より玉をてきの中ぼへ打込玉を打てきつき出すをみねををさへ

なかごを左手にてつかみもきとる

JūKyū-hon    Nineteenth Item   The ball weight controlling left and right between oneself and the opponent, striking and entering with the ball weight the opponent thrusting in with the sword against the body one arrests the attack with the left hand from the inside at the sword hilt and reaping capture.


廿本 玉を打外がまにうけてきの右みゝの処へかまをうつてきうけてをし

返す処左手をもち首をてきの左よりかくなり


Nijū-hon    Twentieth Item   The ball weight striking with the sickle-blade to the outside, warding off the opponent cutting at the right ear, and again striking the opponent with the sickle-blade countering by pressing and warding off (uke-te-oshi-gaeshi). And again with the left hand hooking and reaping the opponent's neck at the left side.

Shohon   First Item   The ball weight striking, fending off and leading him on, by entangling the opponent's neck perform pulling throw-down (hiki-taoshi).


二本 玉を左右へとり、敵の刀へからみ、をしよせもぎとる

Nihon  Second Item   The ball weight slinging left and right captures and entangles the sword (katana-e garami) of the opponent, pushing it close to him and capturing.


三本 玉を打ち、に請け、敵の顔へしりを打ちこむ

Sanbon   Third Item   The ball weight striking, intersecting and striking into the opponent's face.


四本 玉を打ち、右へとり切りかける処を、からみ摺りよせ投げばなし

Shihon   Fourth Item   The ball weight striking, again capturing on the right side during the sword attack, sliding near and entangling (karami-suri-yose) to cast him free of yourself (nage-hanashi).


五本 玉を打ち、敵右の胴へ切りかけるを請け、上より打つ処、敵ぬけ

又切りかけるを、右手にてとり投げる

Gohon   Fifth Item   The ball weight striking, fend off the opponent's slash to the right side of the trunk of the body, striking upwards again, into the eyes of the opponent with hooking slash (kiri-kake), with the right hand capture and throw-down (tori-nage).


六本 玉を打ち、敵ぬきかける処、しりにてとめ、柄をつき出す処、左手

Roppon   Sixth Item   The ball weight striking, hooking in the opponent's eyes, leading and stopping him, dashing in thrust [with the sickle-blade] against the area of the sword hilt, with the left hand categorically dropping [the sword from his hand], right foot treading-in stopper (fumi-komi dome).


七本 玉を打ち、手左へなぜをろし、右へとり切り出す処を、からみ摺りよせ、

右手にて敵の頭を打つ

Shichi-hon   Seventh Item    The ball weight striking, with the left hand bring it down on him, to the right side capturing as he attacks with the sword, sliding in and entangling (karami-suri-yose), with the right hand strike the neck of the opponent.


八本 玉を打ち、先にて請け、敵二度まきをろす切りかける処、左手にて逆に

手をとり、内へ入りぼうぐるま、足にて先のひじを蹴る

Happon   Eighth Item   The ball weight striking, fend of the sword point, the opponent will twice attack with sword you [fending off] with winding sweep (maki-oroshi) [of the chain], with the left hand do reverse hand capture (gyaku te-dori). 十本 玉を打ち、先にて請け、しりにて打ちをとす、つきてゆく処、敵押さへ

後ろ又玉を打つ

Jūhon   Tenth Item   The ball weight striking, with the tip [of the pole] fending off, leading him on perform striking drop (uchi-otoshi), thrusting in hand motions to do so [with the tip of the pole], pressing arrest against the opponent again afterwards striking with the ball weight.


十一本 玉を打ち、先にて請け、敵構へ手の上より棒先を通し、敵の左へぬけ、

左腕を押さへとめる

Jū-ippon   Eleventh Item   The ball weight striking, fending off the sword point, using the tip of the pole by hand and pushing out against the opponent's posture, [strike] the opponent's left eye, pressing stopper (osae-dome) against his left arm.


十二本 玉を打ち、しりにて請け、敵の切り出す処、敵の右肩へいれ、先の右手

を我が右手にてとり、敵しゃがむ、右足にて蹴こむ

Jūni-hon   Third Item   The ball weight striking, leading him on and fending off, again the opponent attacks rushing in with the sword, against the opponent's right shoulder with right hand place the tip [of the pole], with your right hand perform hand capture (te-dori), the opponent crouching down, with your right foot kicking in (kerikomi).


十三本 玉を打ち、そのまゝに居り、敵[]小手を切りかけるを、右手をはなし

右足を引き、敵又上より切りかくる処、左手にて敵の右手をとり、ころがし刀とる

Jūsanbon   Thirteenth Item   The ball weight striking, without changing [position], as the opponent tries to attack your wrist with the sword, let go the weapon with your right hand and pull out his right leg. Again the opponent regaining his footing attacks with the sword, with the left hand capture the opponent's right hand (te-dori) capturing and throwing down his sword.


十四本 玉を打ち、棒先にて請け、敵右小手を切る様に返し、右へとり切り

かけるをうちからみ、敵の右へすりこみ柄をとりもくなり

Jūshi-hon   Fourteenth Item   The ball weight striking, with the tip of the pole fending off, the opponent tries to counter against the pole by sword attack to your right wrist. On the right side capture his sword attack and performing striking entanglement, sliding in to the right of the opponent capture the hilt of his sword.


十五本 玉を打ち、先にて請けなぜをろし、又しりにて請けなぜをろし、

敵切りかけるをからみ摺りこみとる、敵右手にて打ち出すを居かわり、棒

しりにて敵の横腹をとめる

Jūgo-hon   Fifteenth Item   The ball weight striking, fending off the sword point by tossing launch [of the chain and ball weight]. Again leading hims on and fending him off by tossing launch [of the chain and ball weight]. Capturing the opponent's sword attack by sliding in and entangling. The opponent with his right hand switches to dashing in strike with the sword, leading him on with the pole stopping him by [striking] horizontal across his belly.

二本 玉を打ち、外かまに請けからみ、玉にて目つぶし、後投げる

Nihon   Second Item  The ball weight striking, the sickle-blade to the outside and fending off with entanglement (uke-garami), crush the eyes with the ball weight and drop him to the rear (ushiro-nage).


三本 玉を左右より打ち、又上より打ちて、外かまに請けからみ、

打ちふせ右足にて蹴る

Sanbon   Third Item   The ball weight striking in control to the left and right, and more yet striking upwards as well, the sickle-blade to the outside fending off and entangling (uke-karami), striking and laying him flat out kicking with the left foot.


四本 下玉、外鎌に請からみ、もぎとる

Shihon   Fourth Item   The ball weight striking, the sickle-blade to the outside fending off and entangling (uke-karami), plucking capture (mogi-tori).


五本 左右玉を打ち、敵の刀みねを押ひきをとし、左手にて手

をもち首をかく

Gohon   Fifth Item   The ball weight striking in control to the left and right, pressing against the opponent's sword and doing pulling drop (hiki-otoshi), with the left hand heavily hooking his neck [with the sickle-blade] by the weight/pressure of your hand [on the hilt of the sickle-blade].


六本 玉を打ち、みきる後みねを押さへ返し、摺りこみつき返す

Roppon   Sixth Item   The ball weight striking, countering and arresting him (osae-gaeshi) by cutting at his body [with the sickle-blade] from behind, sliding in thrusting counter (surikomi-tsuki-gaeshi) [against his sword attack].


七本 互いにはつそを(八相)に構へ、からみもぎとる

Shichi-hon   Seventh Item   Both initiating at the same time, taking the posture of (8 Apparitions) (hassō-no-kamae), one does entangling plucking capture (karami-mogi-dori).


八本 玉を打ち、つく処からみ、左右へつけを返し蹴る

Happon   Eighth Item   The ball weight striking, again he thrusting you entangling, controlling to the left and right one does adhering counter with a kick (tsuke-gaeshi-geri).


九本 玉を打ち、外がま摺り込もぎとる、後又玉を打つなり

Kyūhon  Ninth Item   The ball weight striking, the sickle-blade to the outside, sliding in plucking capture (surikomi-mogi-dori) again afterwards striking with the ball weight.


拾本 乱玉、後内がま、又外がまにてからみ投げる

Jūhon   Tenth Item   The ball weight striking, the sickle-blade to the inside rear, and more yet with the sickle-blade now to the outside entangling throw-down (karami-nage).


十一本 玉を打ち、左手をそへ外がま内がま、玉を打ち、からみ投げる

Jū-ippon   Eleventh Item   The ball weight striking, the sickle-blade held up to the outside then held up to the inside, striking with the ball weight, entangling throw-down (karami-nage).


十二本 玉を打ち、上にて内かま、返して外かま、又内かま外かま

にてからみ投げる

Jūshi-hon    Fourteenth Item    The ball weight striking with the sickle-blade to the outside sliding in, plastering all over him, kick with the right foot.


十五本 玉を打ち、左手をそへ引きをとし、又左へ引きをとし、玉を

打ち、外がまにてからみ投げる

Gohon   Fifteenth Item   The ball weight striking, [with the sickle-blade] held up against his left hand pulling drop (hiki-otoshi), again to the left [with the sickle-blade] pulling drop (hiki-otoshi) and striking with the ball weight, with the sickle-blade to the outside, entangling throw-down (karami-nage).


十六本 玉を打ち、外かまにて敵の右手へかまをかけ引き寄せ、鎖を

首へかけ、後ろよりいりを右足にて押さへる

Jūroppon   Sixteenth Item   The ball weight striking, with the sickle-blade to the outside hooking the opponent's right hand and drawing him in (kake-hiki-yose), hooking his neck with the chain and afterwards, entering in with the right foot thus arresting him.


十七本 玉を打ち、内かまに請け、摺り込み敵の右へ鎌を返し首をかく、

手も持つ

Jūshichi-hon   Seventeenth Item   The ball weight striking, with the sickle-blade fending off to the inside, sliding in and countering with the sickle-blade to the right, hooking the opponent's neck, whilst counter-gripping his hand [E.g. to prop for cutting with the sickle-blade against the neck.]


十八本 玉を打ち、外かま、敵の左腹へ鎌を打ちこみ、かゝへころがし、

敵の顔かきとる

Jūhappon   Eighteenth Item   The ball weight striking, with the sickle-blade to the outside, entering and striking with the sickle-blade to left side of the opponent's belly, hooking and overturning him, use hooking capture (Kaki-dori) against the opponent's face.


十九本 左右より玉を敵の中ぼへ打ち込み、玉を打ち、敵つき出すを、

みねを押さへ、なかご()を左手にてつかみもきとる

Jūkyū-hon   Nineteenth Item   The ball weight controlling to the left and right, in the midst of it the opponent enters striking with the sword, strike with the ball weight. The opponent dashes in thrusting, arrest his body, with your left hand on the hilt-stem seize and plucking capture (tsukami-moki-dori).


廿本 玉を打ち、外がまに請け、敵の右耳の処へ鎌を打つ、敵請けて押し

返す処、左手をもち首を敵の左よりかくなり


Nijū-hon   Twentieth Item   The ball weight striking, with the sickle-blade fending off to the outside, again striking with the sickle-blade against the opponent's right ear, yet more fending off with pushing counter (ukete-oshi-gaeshi) against the opponent, [?switching the sickle blade to?] the left hand perform hooking and reaping to the left of the opponent's neck.

MAIN TRANS NOTE: The text contained one un-renderable kanji that looks similar to an adaption of “ having the horizontal stroke placed much higher whilst yet crossing the central stem. No one seems to be certain what this kanji is? Due to the extremely low number of kanji written with only two (2) strokes I presume that it's an adaptation of “ (two stroke kanji are extremely rare, there's only the tiniest number of them.) I translated it as such and marked the translation with brackets and question marks.
