The book originates from about the 1880's or 1890's in it's original form but this is a later version that was included in the 1918 text Dainihon Budō Renshū Kyōhan (大日本武道練修教範) , which otherwise seems no different, textually, than the original.

The Tenjin Shinyō Ryū Jūjutsu Kōgi is listed as one of the Principle documents of the Tenjin shinyō ryū itself. That makes the text quite important and interesting (along with the Tenjin Shinyō Ryū Jūjutsu Gokui Kyōju Zukai, of which we have also presented in the Collection).
