The book originates from about 1893 in it's original form but the later version included a Preface allegedly written by Jigoro Kano himself, and was placed after the original publication date?

The copy of this preface came from Mr. Christian Flament's personal copy of the Tenjin Shinyō Ryū Jūjutsu Gokui Kyōju Zukai. It was not extant in the Library version to which this page is linked. There is a separate link for the copy of that Preface, this being the case.

Also, the Library version of the text was missing a large number of pages, dotted throughout the text, all missing pages were graciously constributed again by Mr. Christian Flament Dojo-shu of the Jikan Dojo Kishin Juku Society, Europe.

Also, Mr. Stephane Belbeze of the Judo Club Beaugency (Beaugency France) provided a full copy of this text and some number of other premodern handbooks (all of which are actual documentation) of the Tenjin Shinyō Ryū Jūjutsu. The text of these copies was quite clear (highly legible) and could often be used as necessary cross referencing which made it easier to translate this text, so I credited him and his school here.
