INTRODUCTION

The objective of the collection is to have provided a General Practitioner's and a Master Practitioner's Handbooks and Scrolls Set, which is to be better described and explained here on this page. What might be said to constitute a General Practitioner and a Master Practitioner? We feel as if, to some extent, the subject is well enough understood and agreed upon between the Western practitioners of the Japanese descended arts. But we would like to point out that there are fundamental differences between the European definitions and the North American definitions (not to mention the stricter Japanese and Asian standards, one knows). THE GENERAL PRACTITIONER HANDBOOK AND SCROLL SETS

The objective of placing translated material suitable to this occasion is rather intended to be “general usage” and suitable to Aikido-ka, Judoka, Jujutsu no mono and, of course, the Karate-ka when these are of suitable schools that have material content evidenced in these translations we have placed. We do not mean to imply that “one size fits all”. We mean that, as the General Practitioner Handbooks and scrolls have been placed, one must copy for oneself the proper and suitable titles. What would be appropriate for the Aikido-ka might not agree with the practitioners of (whatever form of) Jujutsu. You need to determine what constitutes a suitable set of volumes for your artifice.
This means that we were translating and placing quite an expansive assembly for just the General Practitioner. I suppose that this really means that, when finished placing the needed translations, we had actually placed about four (4) 'General practitioner' sets (suitable to provide for many of the arts).

THE MASTER PRACTITIONER HANDBOOK AND SCROLL SETS

The name of the game here is to expand as necessary ↑ above and beyond what constitutes the General Practitioner Handbooks and Scroll Sets as they are placed. To have included the booklets and books on the auxiliary arts. For example, the auxiliary arts necessary to Aiki-jutsu, which might then interest the Aikido-ka (some of which certainly apply to most of the more serious forms of Jujutsu and to some of the Karate-do schools as well.) What we do not know for sure is what will really have been available and so we cannot say just how complete any given Master Practitioners Handbook and Scroll sets will actually be. Quite in line with this, there is a profound difference between what Japanese standards, as opposed to European or North American standards would identify as being “Master level” collection and also what would constitute a “complete” set for a Master Practitioner. That is the nature of Japanese standards as opposed to the non-Japanese. By North American standards, a rather “complete” set for a Master Practitioner would probably be viewed as just short by a few titles according to many European standards, depending. We leave the subject to your discretion to decide? In the end, we have provided in the Library Collection of Shihan Weymouth whatever we have been able to provide.

KOREAN DESCENDED ARTS

Actually, the layer of Budo and etc espoused in these writings is held in common between the traditional ranges of Japanese, Chinese and Korean arts and schools. The only real difference is that all material is reformatted to reflect Korean language pronunciation. We advice the practitioners of the Korean descended arts NOT to ignore the Libarary Collection of Shihan Weymouth, and not to ignore the subject of the General Practitioner and Master Practitioners Handbooks and scrolls sets. Yes, there would be some need to “re-Koreanize” the material... but it's not as difficult as one would think. The same Sino-Japanese Classics and Premodern writings that are the basis of the writings in this collection are most certainly used by the Koreans and their arts. No real difference.
