This
page explains the policies of Sub-certifications through the American
Federation of
Jujutsu.
You must be a
member of the AFJ in order to enjoy AFJ Sub-certifications.
There is no absolute requirement to engage in Sub-certifications through the AFJ,
see the
accompanying
documents for more information on the subject. AFJ Sub-certifications exists and can be
tailor fit to meet your needs as a member. Sub-certifications are
meant to provide minor, three level certification for the various
subject matter of Jujutsu and related arts as a membership service. You
will receive a small card certificate and the documents that accompany
it, as proof of your certification in the fields and subject matter
indicated. There is a charge for the Sub-certifications program.
Several different possibilities exist as to what can be done through
the AFJ Sub-certifications program
when used in
conjuction with other AFJ Membership services. For example, the
sub-certifications provide some reasonable proof of what auxilliary
arts and what primary elements of the art of Jujutsu and/or related
arts that you have learned or been trained in. These sub-certifications
help clarify exactly what fields and subject matter you have some focus
on, which lends itself well as a form of support should you acquire AFJ
Chartered Private Instructor. If, as a member, you don't engage in
these more involved activities, such as training and practicing with an
immediate group of people, you can still make reasonable usage of the
sub-certifications program. The AFJ Sub-certifications
program was meant to be of general use to the membership, irregardless
of your rank, position or activity type.
