This
page offers the application and other documents related
to Rank Registration with the American Federation of
Jujutsu.
You must be a member of the AFJ in order to register rank.
All members are required to register their rank in the martial arts.
You must register new ranks given outside the AFJ as soon as you are able to do so.
The cost of all registrations is very low.

When
you first join up as a member of the AFJ, all ranks should be
registered as soon as possible. If you are already a registered
associate member, and you are awarded a rank advancement by an outside
agency, please register that rank with the AFJ as soon as possible. It
is important to register your rank(s) as a member, and to register your
rank advancment(s) given by outside agencies so that your membership
files are kept up-to-date.
All members are entitled to have and recieve Rank within the fighting
arts of their choice. We here at the American Federation of Jujutsu
believe that this entitlement is only natural, an integral aspect of
these arts and practices. Where you have someone else to afford
you Rank and Rank Advancement, there is the expectation that you will
pursue your ranks through that outside agency (and register these ranks
with the AFJ). But, the American Federation of Jujutsu
is prepared to issue relevant Rank and Rank Advancement to its
membership in the event of a need to do so. Please understand that Rank
issued through the AFJ may not be recognisable to all other outside
organisations (which is ironic, when you consider that they usually do
use our translations in their own organisations!) This failure is
caused by the Policies and Rules of these organisations.
Where you did have an outside agency or party through which Rank and
Advancement was possible, but later in time lost this relationship: We
here at the AFJ are prepared to afford relevant Rank Advancemnt in a
reasonable and affordable fashion. As a member of the AFJ, you enjoy
this kind of benefit. Remember that we do have rules about Rank and
Advancemnt but this service does exist to benefit you as a member.
